Tuesday Teaching Tips: Bloom’s Taxonomy

Okay the video this week doesn’t really fit in to the guidelines that I first set up for my segment, Tuesday Teaching Tips.  I have been looking for videos that are less than 10 minutes in length and that provide tips and tricks to make my life as a teacher that little bit easier.

However, I couldn’t resist this video when I came across it.  I’m sure as a teacher you’re pretty aware of Bloom’s Taxonomy.  If you’re not very familiar with Bloom’s, essentially it is a framework that can be used to help develop higher order thinking.  The six levels include: knowledge, comprehension, application, analysis, synthesis and evaluation.  If you’d like some more information on Bloom’s, then this cheat sheet I found explains it further: Bloom’s Cheat Sheet

The video this week is longer than the 10 minutes; you will need to put aside about 15 minutes.  It shows the 6 levels of Bloom’s through Seinfeld episodes.  I had a pretty good chuckle watching these.  I hope you enjoy!
