I am a Reception lass teacher.I have a daily ‘Inspector’ who makes sure everyone is tidying up and putting things back where they belong. The inspector has a clip board and pen and a (role play inspector hat if available) which helps gear them into their role. He/she is encouraged to watch the others carefully and write down names of those who are actively tidying and so on. At the end they come to the carpet and the inspector reads out the names. Those children are awarded a sticker.
I find this really helps to get the room in order within minutes.

Hi Farida, thanks so much for your great suggestion. Yes that does sound like a great way to keep children on task.

      Cheers
